We’ve been doing a lot of things over the years to improve our health and wellness. The place were we still need a lot if improvement is the food we eat. I can’t see us ever at this point cutting out every single thing that could potentially be bad for us. We believe in moderation. But we also know that it’s okay to make some changes where we can and when we can. Like the rest of the world it seems we’re trying to cut back where we can on dairy. It’s a hard hit for us. We love dairy. We love ranch. But ranch has dairy. So we decided we need to make our own ranch and it starts with this. Homemade Ranch Seasoning.
This recipe is super easy to make. It’s likely that you have all the ingredients already in your spice cabinet. The thing you may have to grab is something to store it in. I use these to store my dairy free homemade ranch seasoning.
I skip a mixing bowl and just combine all the ingredients in my mason jar. You’re about to see how easy this is. Combine 5 tbls Dried Parsley, 10 tsp Dried Dill Weed, 5 tsp Freeze Dried Chives, 5 tbls Garlic Powder, 5 tbls Onion Powder, 5 tsp Sea Salt and 2 tsp Black Pepper in your jar. Put the top on (this step is important). And then shake, shake shake! My kids loved helping me this part. I’m pretty sure we have the most mixed ranch seasoning on the block. They were all about the shaking!
And that’s it. Seriously. Homemade ranch seasoning. Done.
There are so many things you can do with this seasoning. Like I mentioned earlier I use it to make my own homemade ranch dressing, ranch dip and to season pork and chicken. You can also add a tablespoon to 1/2 cup of mayonnaise for an easy flavored mayo! Another ideas is to add it to flour for Ranch Fried Chicken! The possibilities are endless!
