It’s the most wonderful time of the year. Peppermint everything season! I love Christmas time for this exact reason. I could eat Peppermint and Mint flavored items to my heart’s content. I don’t discriminate I like Peppermint anything. Typically I make a traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie recipe and just had mint and chocolate chips to the mix but this year I wanted to switch things up so I decided to alter a another cookie I make, Oreo Cheesecake Cookies.
These cookies came out exactly how I had planned them too and they are oh so delicious. I opted to *not* do the Oreos, instead I wanted it to be really simple. Next time though I might just go ahead and add some Mint Oreos! Because double the mint sounds amazing to me!
This recipe is super simple first whip together 1/2 cup butter and 3 ounces of cream cheese.
Then add 1 cup of sugar to the butter and cream cheese mixture along with 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, 2 teaspoons of Peppermint Extract (or 3 drops Peppermint EO) and 2 drops of Green Food dye. I opted to use the Peppermint Essential Oil because I love my essential oils and it’s what I happened to have on hand! Next add in 1 cup of all purpose flour.
Make 1-1 1/2 inch cookie dough balls and place them on your baking sheet 2 inches apart.
Bake at 375 degrees and bake for 12 minutes.
