This blog has come a LONG way. I first started in when I was pregnant with Mason and living in Virginia I figured it would be a good way to keep my family updated. Now? My family never reads it and instead “strangers” do. And while I try often to write for ME so that I continue to love my job I also write for YOU and I’m always open to any suggestions or posts you want to see i.e. More recipes, crafts etc.
At the end of December I did a Top 13 Recipe Posts on Little Us and now I want to do the Top 13 Blog Posts of 2013. So without further ado
- Chicken Pot Pie Biscuits
- Cuter Than Cute Costumes
- Remember Quotes
- Chili’s Skillet Queso (Copycat Recipe)
- Little Love Thoughts
- Direct visits to my homepage Little Us
- Words
- Easy Crock Pot Pork Sirloin Tip Roast Recipe

- Sugar Cookie Recipe

Much like my Top 13 Recipes in 2013 a lot of the posts are actually older, apparently it takes a couple of years for them to be popular 🙂 The Top 13 Posts published in 2013 are as follows
- Strawberry Banana Bread
- Thanksgiving Wreath Tutorial
- Maternity Photo Shoot Ideas featuring Siblings
- 7 Things You’re Going to Wish Someone Told You About Giving Birth

- Halloween Books for Preschoolers
- Creamy Apple Dip
- Halloween Candy Cookies
- Strawberry Bread
- Sibling Costume Ideas
- 10 Ways to Make Frozen Meals Your Own
Clearly my most popular posts are RECIPES! My Top referring websites are:
- Stumbleupon
- Ziplist (it’s for Recipes, learn more here)
- Toptenlook.com
- RecipeTipster.com
- LittleBGCG.blogspot.com (my old web address, these are redirects)
- Facebook (Mobile FB was #10 but I’m including it here)
- Crowdtap
- Reachli
Okay so truth. I didn’t even know what some of these websites are. It seems like at least two are sites that basically lift your photo(s) and “share” your recipe. Clearly I’m getting click throughs but they’re also making money off of my hard work due to the ads they have up. I’ve contacted both sites in the past with no response. The most I was able to do was get them to take off the ingredient list so more people would have to click through to my site.
Blogging Goals:
1. Get Better at Tracking my Income
I did fairly well in 2013 but I would miss some things for example I wrote down all sponsored posts that were due but I didn’t add in money that was coming in from ads. I need to count that money more. In addition to tracking my income better, I would like to increase my monthly income by half. I think it’s doable with hard work.
2. Manage My Time Better and Be More Organized
I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately. I love my online community and I don’t want to get rid of it in any way shape or form but I do need to manage my time better. I need to spend less time online when my kids are awake especially if I’m not working and instead socializing. I can save socializing for night time! In addition to that I need more organization for posts that are due! I would like to not miss a deadline this year. Much like Emily from Baby Dickey!
3. Build More Content.
I want to do what I love and share more recipes and crafts. I got a sewing machine for Christmas and since learning to sew is a resolution one of my blogging resolutions is posting more crafts!
4. Increase Unique Visits by 50K and Page Visits by 100K.
I think this is very doable especially if I follow #3!
5. Do less Reviews & Giveaways
I think for the most part I’m pretty good about this but it seems to go in spurts. I want to continue doing reviews and giveaways but only for things I really want, love or need and that would be of value to my readers. I’m think 5 TOPS a month.
6. Increase “Followers” and Interaction on Facebook and Twitter.
Increase my Facebook Fan Page to 8,000 and my Twitter to 8,000 as well! Bonus: 10,000 on Facebook! I also want to interact more with the people who follow my Facebook page and Twitter!
7. Get a new look!
I’m in desperate need and since I change from Little BGCG to Little Us I think it’s much needed!
And I think that’s all! This has been a great year for my blog and I’m so excited to see what 2014 has in store for me!
