In anticipation of writing this post I asked my March Moms what they thought of when they thought of Sunday Dinners. What I found interesting was that for the most part everyone answered the same. Roast Chicken. Pot Roast. Lasagna. Fried Chicken. Mashed Potatoes.
For me when I think of Sunday dinners I think of roasted chicken served over rice with roasted potatoes. Which is why you would expect this post to be that recipe but it’s not. Not this time. Instead it’s another Sunday Dinner classic a pot roast. A crock pot pot roast to be exact!
This roast simmers all day in the crock pot and is so easy to make! Personally I would serve it over rice but B thinks two starches is a no no at dinner but he seems to forget that Sunday Dinner is all about indulging a little, in family and food so Sunday dinner is the PERFECT time to have two starches. He’ll come around.
Ingredients
Directions
- Season Boneless chuck roast with 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and 1/2 teaspoon pepper.
- In your slow cooker whisk together 2 cups water, 1 envelope brown gravy mix, 1 envelope Italian salad dressing mix and 1 envelope onion soup mix.
- Peel and dice your potatoes and carrots place in your crock pot, lay the roast on top and cook on slow for 6-8 hours.

This looks amazing!! And there is never anything wrong with 2 starches.
RIGHT!? When will B learn!?
This is a really easy and delicious Pot Roast Recipe that I want to make for my family. It is so easy to make in the Crock Pot. Thanks for sharing.
Do you put a lid on the crock pot when cooking or leave uncovered?
Lid on!
