Your 10.5-to-11.8-inch fetus weighs about 12.7 to 20.8 ounces and every week she gets closer and closer to being ready to survive (and thrive!) in the outside world. [Today marks the viability milestone, meaning your baby has a good chance of surviving even if she was born right this second]. Her see-through skin is gradually becoming more opaque and it’s got a new pink glow, thanks to the small capillaries that have recently formed.
How Far Along: 24 Weeks! V-Day, Viability!
Due Date: March 13th, 2013
Boy or girl: GIRL
Currently craving: Green Bean Casserole and this apple dip I wasn’t sure I was making until right this second when I answered the question…I may even make it tonight so I can snack on it tonight too. Yup. Making it as soon as I’m done here.
Currently Avoiding: Not much at this point. I feel good.
Weight: I lost a lb this week WITH boots on but I don’t know what I actually weigh.
Belly button status: IN!
Sleep grade: More please. I just got a new maternity pillow to review and I’m excited to see how it helps with my sleeping. The box is huge which is a good sign IMO.
Recent Crazy Dream: Nothing too out of the normal. Although A couple of weeks ago I had a dream that one of my July Moms got pregnant and one of them did. So I’m psychic obviously.
Evidence of pregnancy brain: Oh I have a GOOD one. I got in the shower yesterday, got out lotioned up and did my hair and couldn’t find my glasses ANYWHERE I could have SWORN I put them on my bed when I had to do my hair. I ended up having to put on my contacts just to look so I could see and I STILL couldn’t find them. I found them later that night in the cabinet were I *always* put my glasses before I shower. Pregnancy Brain at its finest.
Symptoms?: Heartburn. Indigestion. Sleepiness and short short bouts of nesting.
Health/Appointments: I had an appointment yesterday and my cervical is still looking good at around 3.8. At this point I have officially avoided a cervical stitch aka a cerclage aka a TVC aka a transvaginal cerclage. Even if at my next appoinment I was dilating they wouldn’t do a stitch just monitor me and probably vaginal progesterone. It is such a relief knowing that I won’t be getting a cerclage. I was really scared about the possibility.
Movement: All the time every where. I’m currently really enjoying the shots to my bladder! 😉
Any baby related purchases? Um yes! I bought these. I also have about 7 other outfits in my cart and I’m trying to decide if I should get those too.
I also bought a shelf for the room where we can store all these clothes and more! Once it’s a little more set up I’ll post!
Best thing to happen in the past week/ Worst:Best thing is my cervix looking good, not needing to get a cerclage, seeing baby girl and reaching viability. I really can’t say there was a worse thing this week. I mean how can you when you’ve reached viability with your daughter after losing your first daughter. Exactly.
I’m so happy you’ve reached 24 weeks!!! SO happy! <3
Happy V-Day Christa. I am so glad that you have passed this milestone in your pregnancy.
Happy V-Day! You are 5 days ahead of me! 🙂
