Oh hey 3rd Trimester! So nice to see you!!
At 13.6 to 14.8 inches and 1.5 to 2.5 pounds, she’s not just getting bigger, she’s getting smarter. She’s practicing inhaling and exhaling with her rapidly developing lungs. It’s official: Baby’s showing brain activity! And her brain will keep on getting more complex.
How Far Along: 27 Weeks
Due Date: March 13th, 2013
Boy or girl: Girl
Currently craving: Sour Punch Straws. I love those things.
Currently Avoiding: Gah, I made brats yesterday and while they were cooking I honestly thought I was going to puke!
Weight: Don’t know, trying desperately not to care.
Belly button status: In, that sucker is deep I don’t think it’s coming out. It didn’t with Mason either.
Sleep grade: More please? I need to stop going to bed so late..as I type this at 10:41 PM
Recent Crazy Dream: gah, I had a weird one today but I don’t remember what it was I guess this can go in the “Evidence of Pregnancy Brain” section!
Evidence of pregnancy brain: I just keep forgetting everything. I’ll be talking and mid sentence will forget my point. It’s been awful lately.
Symptoms?: Indigestion is pretty crappy. And I guess my sciatic nerve is acting up? Basically every so often I get a pain in my butt and it feels like I’m going to fall. I’m told that’s my sciatic nerve. I feel awfully old this pregnancy.
Health: So I just got over a really sore throat and yesterday I woke up with this GIGANTIC cold sore, above my lip which is weird because usually when I get them they’re on the side of my lip. So anyway I go to CVS and get a cold sore treatment wake up the next morning and it looks exactly the same. Gross, disgusting and rather large. So today while I was getting my shot I mentioned it to the nurse and I’m glad I did because it turns out it’s *not* a cold sore and instead it’s this weird thing you can get after having a bad sore throat or strep throat. It’s *highly* contagious which sucks because of course I don’t want Mason to get it or B. She also said there is a chance it can spread which means I’m going to cry if it does because Christmas is almost here and I don’t want to look like a leper on Christmas.
Movement: Baby girl is still in there moving and grooving. She usually gets crazy active right before I go to bed. I know it bothers some people because it keeps them up. But I love it. Elena has given me some amazing perspective.
Names: I repeat, we’re screwed.
Any appointments?: Next appointment is a week from today. I get to see baby girl again!
Any baby related purchases?: Nothing this week!
Random: Mason is so stinking cute today I was talking to him about how he was going to be a big brother and I asked him if he was excited and he said “It’s going to be awesome”
And he’s so totally right!
Bump picture to come probably with my face in it IF this growth goes away soon!

By the time the third trimester rolled around I was ready to meet my baby… I bet you are getting more and more excited as the due date draws near.

Woohoo! I am a week behind you and I am looking forward to the last trimester! Girl names are so hard! I have three girls and I was relieved when I found out we were having a boy! I am glad to know I am not the only one forgetting what I am saying mid-sentence! In fact, I can barely make my point when trying to type something nowadays.

I had sciatic pain the second time too. Not fun! I’m giggling over your sour patch straws craving!

Yay for the 3rd trimester!! I know we have the same problem with boy’s names. We only have boys and are expecting another baby so we will see if it is boy or a girl. Since we don’t find out until we have the baby, then I guess we will have to rack our brains until we can come up with something
