Recently my hard drive crashed forcing me to use my older computer. It’s slow as molasses but it works for the most part. Whenever I have to use this computer I get sucked into a time warp. I catch myself browsing through pictures from when Mason was just a baby. My favorite is coming across this picture:
Excuse me while I grab a tissue. It’s hard to believe that this little thing is 5 now. It’s one of my favorite pictures of Mason. He’s so itty bitty and so cute. It was fitting that I came across this picture the same week I hosted my PampersFirsts party. Pampers Swaddlers is the #1 choice of hospitals in North America and my hospital was no different. The first time I changed Mason’s diaper it was into a Pampers Swaddlers. Mason being in Pampers Swaddlers wasn’t a new tradition that his hospital started for our family. It was a tradition that continued from when all my siblings wore Pampers Swaddlers.
At a certain size, Pampers Swaddlers where no longer available, but now that’s not the case, now they’re available until size 6 and they’re just as soft as ever. Not only is the diaper still soft but it offers up to 12 hours of overnight protection making it a great choice for older babies. The color changing wetness indicator shows you that your baby needs to be changed and until you notice that like the Absorb Away Liner® pulls wetness away from your baby’s skin.
Earlier in the week I got to share Pampers Swaddlers with a bunch of my mom friends. We had snacks and cupcakes (because no party isn’t completely without a cupcake) and enjoyed talking to each other while the kids ran around playing.
After we ate, and talked (a lot) we watched the Pampers Firsts video.
Watching this video, thinking about my own kids, it made it hard not to tear up. I was remembering their firsts and realizing just how big they’ve gotten. At times it seems like just yesterday that I was experiencing all of these firsts with a brand new baby. Like their first feed.
A journey that has ended years ago at this point with Mason and one that will end sooner then I can even imagine with Kyla. I wasn’t the only one holding back tears.
But it wasn’t only just tears! We had a lot of fun talking and taking pictures!
And everyone was SO excited to each get a gift bag that contained a package of diapers AND wipes!
What was even more fun is that because of a Winter Weather Advisory not everyone could make it to the party so I had extra gift bags that I got to give to people at the Children’s Museum (where we had the party). It was so fun to see the look on their faces when I told them I was giving them diapers and wipes FOR FREE and most of them had no idea that Pampers Swaddlers are now made to up to size six!
At the end of the party I did a review on Pampers and encouraged the people attending to share their experiences with pampers as well. You can do the same too!
In honor of their Firsts video Pampers has also created a space where you can create your on “Firsts” video at pampersfirsts.com. It’s so simple. Just upload your photos and it will create a video a 15 second video filled with your baby’s firsts to share with your friends on Twitter or Facebook.
Disclosure: I worked with The Motherhood and Pampers to host this party and facilitate this post. All opinions and experiences are 100% my own.
