Another picture having to do with the river? What can I say? It’s Summer. I got back from New York on the 3rd. We spent the fourth hanging out on our deck enjoying good food and each other’s company. B just made a fire pit to slow roast chicken and oh my is it amazing! Then we headed to the fireworks and afterwards some yummy ice cream.
The weather was absolutely amazing and beautiful thanks in large part to Hurricane Arthur. While he did come through and we saw some crazy thunderstorms and flash flooding living in a valley does has it’s perks. No major damage was done in our area and the weather this entire weekend was sunny and breezy aka perfect.
Sunday we packed the kids off and headed to the river. We were there for hours. The kids played in the water and I took turns helping and reading. I started the day off reading a book by Cecila Rivenbark. I read a couple of chapters and then just wasn’t feeling it, which has been the case for about 2+ years now. I swear one day I’ll finish reading this book! Then I started Mitch Albom’s For One More Day. I seriously could not stop reading it. I had about 15 pages back when we headed home and I finished the rest as soon as we got home and I finally reached my 25 book goal for 2014. Next goal? 35!
I got some great pictures of the kids including this week’s picture which I’m pretty sure is going to be framed somewhere in our house. It’s not perfect but it’s our babies, holding hands at the river <3.
