It’s been a little quiet here on the blog over the last week or so and if you follow me on instagram you know exactly why, but just in case you don’t, I’ll tell you why it’s been so quiet. I’ve been in California. Santa Monica, California to be exact. Everything happened so quickly. One second I was applying to go to a Huggies #LittleSwimmers pool party with Tend by Glam and the next I was getting an acceptance email and on my way to sunny California just 10 short days later! My boys stayed home but Kyla and I took off meeting my cousin there who joined us on the trip. We stayed at the Wyndham which was so very close to the Santa Monica Pier. And what a beautiful view the pier and beach provide.
The day after we arrived in Santa Monica we headed to the Huggies #LittleSwimmers Pool party with Tend by Glam. As soon as we arrived we were handed a gift bag with a beach towel, little swimmers, a stainless steel foogoo sippy cup for Kyla, sunscreen, robe for me, a gift certificate to Pinky Blue Photography and an adorable towel for Kyla to keep warm.
The party was absolutely amazing, they had toys for the kids and an amazing spread of snacks, drinks and food both for the adults and for the little ones! There were chocolate shaped like sea shells, yogurt pouches, bite sized veggies in a homemade ranch dressing, hibiscus lemonade (which was to die for), a beautiful salad, breaded chicken, mac and cheese in a large shell, frozen ice pops and a fruit bowl displayed in a watermelon that was turned into a shark!
After some relaxing we got ready for the pool, I put Kyla in an adorable little formal suit that I got at Target.
We had some technical difficulties though and had to change her suit into a cute polka dot bathing suit! Luckily Kyla is adorable so she looked great in both! We were so excited to get into the pool for the Mommy and Me swim lesson. Our instructor was great and led us through a series of water games. She loved chasing after the water toys!
We played one game where she had to go to the instructor and then back to me. This picture is deceiving because although she looks okay, she was not a happy camper. She likes being with mama in the pool, that much is clear!
She was also a huge fan of “falling” off the edge of the pool and into my arms
She did such a great job, I was so proud of her!
Once we got out of the pool the amazing photographers grabbed a few more amazing shots that I will love FOREVER!
and here’s one I took
After the pool party we headed back upstairs where we had amazing food and talked with each other! It was so nice, I had an amazing time and was so happy with the performance of the Little Swimmers, I was amazed at how they didn’t fill up with water at all. It almost felt dry when we took them off which I wasn’t expecting at all! This entire party has encouraged me to join a Mommy and Me swim class at home and thanks to attending this part I have all of my must haves for the next go around! They’ll be summer pool party must haves for you too! Except if you have a little boy you may want to switch out the floral bathing suit 😉

California is a nice place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.
We love the little swimmers. Without those I probably wouldn’t even take my little one to a public pool.
I feel the same way about California. A vacation home there would be nice though so I could go whenever I got the itch. But I’m an East Coast girl at heart!
