We made it to 39 weeks! I thought we would but who knows how much longer we will have with an inside baby! I went into labor with Kyla at 39+2 and with Mason I was 41 weeks. It could be in two weeks. It could be in two days. It could be in two hours. The anticipations is killing me!
Baby keeps growing, despite being so crowded in there. He probably weighs around 6.2 to 9.2 pounds and measures about 18.9 to 20.9 inches. She’s probably able to flex his limbs now. His brain is still rapidly developing — he’s getting smarter by the week! Her nails may extend past her fingertips.
How Far Along: 39 Weeks
Due Date: January 15th, 2106
Boy or girl: Team Green!
Currently craving/Currently Avoiding: Nothing much!
Weight: I gained like 2lbs this week! EEK. But still under 15lbs gained total so I’m still happy. Looking back at pictures of my other pregnancies I feel like I look the best this pregnancy. No as swollen etc.
Belly button status: In!
Sleep grade: I want to sleep all day long! Then I take naps and end up staying up until 2am 🙁
Recent Crazy Dream: None that I can remember this week.
Evidence of pregnancy brain: I’ve spent this entire week trying to get rid of things and dropping things off to the consignment stores and doing returns from Christmas and it never fails, I always forget something.
Symptoms?: Heartburn seems to have dissipated a little. Maybe this means the baby has dropped a bit? I’m getting a ton of braxton hicks contractions. On top of that I’m having some cervical pain. It almost feels like I can feel my cervix dilating. It’s a special feeling LOL. Baby is absolutely lower based on just that alone.
Health/Appointments: Tuesday I had my appointment with my midwife and everything was normal. We discussed what to do in case of a snow storm. Where I would birth etc. I got a list for home birth supplies just in case. I was happy to see we could make most of it work on the fly without spending a ton if need be. A waterbirth in a nice big pool would be unlikely though. I also went and got blood work to see if my iron is low and it turns out *it is*. I picked up extra Iron and Chlorophyll to help get my iron levels where it needs to be.
Tuesday’s appointment there was also trace amounts of blood in my urine sample. They were excited that it could mean labor is coming, however that’s how my kidney stones were first detected with Kyla so I started to take the supplement that helped with Kyla. So far no labor and no kidney stone pain so who knows!
Movement: Baby is moving around as I type. Movements are slowing but he/she still lets me know she’s in there 🙂
Names: The struggle is real. Seriously real.
Any baby related purchases?: I bought another storage organizer for my YL stuff which isn’t really for the baby obviously but it was prompted by trying to get organized for the baby so I’m going to count it! I also finally got a Rock n Play which apparently is best thing ever. I also got an herbal tincture called AfterEase that is suppose to help with after birth pains. I’m hoping it helps. It was the last thing I “needed” before baby arrives.
