This year is shaping up to be one of my favorite Christmas’s yet. Mason is super into it and Kyla is more into it than she was last year since she’s a little older. They love doing their book advent every night and we’ve been busting out in song pretty much daily. Tonight while at the dinner table I should B a video I took of the kids for Sing to Salute and that started a sing off of all different types of Christmas songs.
We went through some of my favorites, some of B’s favorites and Mason’s favorite which is Jingle Bells which is why we decided to sing it for Sing to Salute. Kyla’s favorite is apparently Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star, I didn’t have the heart to tell her that it wasn’t a Christmas song.
What’s Sing to Salute?
On Giving Tuesday which landed on December 1st this year Walmart kicked of the Sing to Salute campaign by donating $500,000 to Fisher House Foundation. For 25 years Fisher Houses have been a home away from home for military and verterans’ families whose loved ones are in a nearby military or veteran’s hospital. Walmart’s donation will be spread to more than 60 U.S. based Fisher Houses to help with holiday festivities like gifts and visits from Santa as well as home improvements.
Walmart wants families like mine and yours to help them raise awareness for the Fisher House Foundation and our military families by creating a holiday greeting or video of one or more individuals singing a classic holiday song. When you create your video you’ll want to share it to a public Instagram, Twitter or YouTube account with the hashtag #Sing2Salute. Make sure to tag a friend and ask them to participate as well!

Why post a video? For each post published with the hashtag #Sing2Salute between now and December 22nd Walmart will donate $100, up to $1 million to Fisher House Foundation. Their goal is to help Fisher House Foundation fund a full year of lodging for military families staying at Fisher Houses on U.S. military bases.
