I love this time of the year, I only wish that I was closer to my family so that my holiday get togethers can be bigger and better, the more people the merrier after all! The only good thing about smaller holiday parties is that typically it means I spend less!
Combine that with Dollar General Holiday décor and I save myself a ton of money! It had been a while since I had been to Dollar General so I was surprised at how much they had, lots of cute stuff! They had everything I needed to make these adorable inexpensive Christmas Favors!
These were so easy to make and the only thing I needed was Mod Podge. But if you make your own you can get everything you need for this craft at Dollar General!
You’ll Need
- Red & Green Tissue Paper
- Tape
- Modpodge
- Something to spread the modpodge with
- Mason Jar
- Ornament
This is a great project to do with your littles! Mason loved the very first step which was tearing your tissue paper up!
Then put a layer of mod podge on your Mason jar
and attach the tissue paper
Repeat until your entire Mason jar is covered with tissue paper. I also went a step further and cut red square, layered over the shredded tissue and then cut a Christmas Tree shape out! You could do a Christmas tree or a bell.
Next use regular ole tape to attach these adorable ornaments that you can get at Dollar General for $1! And then you’re all done!
Not only will your guests go home with a new ornament for their tree but they can also use the Mason Jar as a Christmas Candy holder or a votive (how I use mine). The cute Salt and Pepper shakers are from Dollar General too!
I also used Holiday Decor from Dollar General to set my dinner table! They had great inexpensive chargers and Melamine plates which are perfect for adults and kids alike.
I was also able to get these adorable Christmas Kitchen Towels that I’m super excited about! They were $1 each.
My entire house will be filled with Christmas decorations in the upcoming days and I’m so excited for the kids, especially Mason, to see everything all set up!

SO cute! I’m hosting my inlaws this year and might have to make these as decorations!
