Um. More than half baked?! How did this happen?
At 10.5 inches and about 12.7 ounces, she’s big enough now that you’ve probably been feeling her movements. As her digestive system preps for the outside world, she’s manufacturing meconium — the tarry black substance you’ll find in her first dirty diaper (ew)! She’s already got a lifetime’s supply of eggs in her womb — about six million of them!
How Far Along: 21 Weeks
Due Date: January 15th 2016
Boy or girl: We don’t know!
Currently craving: Sunflower seeds in vinegar. Salads. Which looking back I was also craving salads with Kyla!!
Currently Avoiding: I’m still not a huge fan of meat (same with Kyla) but I will eat it depending on how it’s cooked it’s just not my favorite, unless it’s bacon or breakfast sausage.
Weight: I won’t go into details here since I’m the heaviest I’ve ever been in my life but I will say that up until this point I’ve only gained about 5-6lbs and I’m happy with that.
Belly button status: IN!
Sleep grade: I’m sleeping okay but absolutely exhausted.
Recent Crazy Dream: I can’t think of anything specific but they have been very vivid.
Evidence of pregnancy brain: Nothing too crazy that I can think of right now.
Symptoms?: Heartburn is starting back up again. I feel bloated and gigantic. I’m also incredibly tired. I think that has a lot to do with the fact that Mason just started school and I’m waking up much earlier than usual.
Health/Appointments: Health seems to be okay so far. I did have an appointment at the hospital to check my cervical length and it averaged a 4.2. Two weeks ago it was a 5.2 HOWEVER 4.2 is still well within the normal range even above normal range. I also looked back when I was around 21/22 weeks with Kyla and my cervix was measuring at a 4.0 so now I’m even happier about my cervical length.
Movement: This baby loves punching/kicking me super low. He/she is already head down so I’m assuming it’s her head or hands. I feel them fairly often absolutely every day but am still waiting for them to get a little more consistent.
Any baby related purchases?: I haven’t bought anything and I’m sure it will remain the same throughout the weeks. The only thing we will need is a new car seat that will fit in my car and something like a bouncer.
Best thing to happen in the past week/ Worst: Best thing that happened to me this week was hearing that my cervical length was long. Worst things pregnancy wise is nothing! I can’t complain when baby is squirming around and my cervix is long and closed!
