In case you didn’t know I’m from New York which basically means that I’ve been spoiled to what GOOD pizza tastes like. You may think you know what good pizza tastes like and then you’ll travel to New York, have real pizza and realize that you’ve been lied to your entire life.
Okay that’s a bit dramatic but regardless it’s pretty much true. I’m super picky about my pizza and even though I’ll eat just about any kind of pizza there is very few pizza places that I’ll say I LOVE their pizza. Which is why I’m apt lately to make my own dough and pizza especially since the kids get an absolute kick out of making the dough and creating their very own pizza complete with the toppings of their choice which lately is strictly cheese!
When we had a pizza and movie night last week I wanted to season my pizza dough to really make it stand out and I love the way my homemade seasoned pizza dough came out! It was super easy too. First preheat your oven to 425. In a medium sized bowl combine 1 cup flour, 1 envelope Fleischmann’s Pizza Yeast, 1 1/2 teaspoons sugar, 3/4 teaspoon salt, 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, 1 1/2 teaspoons onion powder and 1 teaspoon parsley.
Next add 2/3 cup very warm water and 3 tablespoons of oil. Mix together until a very sticky dough has formed.
Add extra flour until you can form a dough ball that is only slightly sticky. Knead for 4-5 minutes until the dough is stretchy. Roll into a ball.
Roll out your dough to fit your pan or pizza stone.
This dough came out so good and the seasoning really helped to make our cheese pizza even better than usual! Once we rolled out the dough the kids helped me by applying the sauce, cheese and toppings. My favorite part about making my own pizza is that I can put A TON of cheese and pepperoni on my pizza. Extra toppings doesn’t cost as much when you’re making it at home.

I like making pizza and my own dough, I never thought of seasoning it, this is a nice recipe to try! I also like having extras as bread sticks, etc. Need to make two batches!!!
