As I sat down last night to write this post I realized that I didn’t take a photo of the kids looking head on. I didn’t even do it for Halloween. By the time we got to where we were going it was getting dark and they were more interested in playing than taking pictures. So I let them play. After all, I did get this picture last week.
As I was going through those pictures though I realized something else. The pictures that I grabbed this week were better than a head on shot. They showed the relationship that my babies have.
Mason has been carrying around this notebook that we got and writing in it and doing math. Kyla’s version of the notebook is her baby doll and Monday when we were walking out of school they each held onto those things and walked out hand in hand (with the doll).
That same day we went to a friends house and they rode around in a jeep. Kyla was not thrilled but Mason had a blast. This is siblinghood.
Every night before bed Mason won’t go to sleep without giving me and and Kyla a hug, a kiss and a squeeze. It has to be in that order too.
Hug. Kiss. Squeeze.
Sometime in the middle of the night Mason joins us in bed. Saturday night when this happened I couldn’t help but snap a picture. Their arms were intertwined and it was one of the sweetest things I’ve had the privilege of witnessing.
These two. I love them so much!
