) and So I guess it’s not really mid-week anymore since it’s actually Thursday.
Oh well. I’m sticking with it. Mid-Week Randoms.
Here goes.
Reading
I updated my 2014 Reading List since it’s the first of the month. I majorly slacked on reading lately but going to the beach has really helped.
Right now I’m reading three different books, two for fun (Gone Girl and Frost Bite) and one that’s sorta for fun, a doula book, The Birth Partner!
Speaking of Doula….
So this Doula stuff has been a little crazy!
I knew that there was a need in the area due to various reasons but I had no idea that I would be able to start working so soon! It’s been so great!
I’ve been reading and educating myself like a mad person. I feel like I have a lot of this knowledge but I also know that I still have so much to learn and as always there is room to learn more!
As of right now I have 3 clients, 2 due in December and 1 due in January!
The only bummer is I won’t be able to go to NY for Christmas but hopefully I can get there shortly after! It’ll be worth it to help these mamas guide their babies into this world!
The Kids
I know I do the weekly updates on the kids but I don’t think I ever mentioned Kyla’s toe? So about two weeks ago Kyla had a rough night and then a slight fever the next morning. I assumed it was teething related so I put some lemon on her feet and Copaiba on her gums. It seemed to help but now I know it’s because Copaiba helps with inflammation.
The next day (after the rough night) while at my friend’s wedding ceremony I realized that her toe was infected. We did some Epsom salt baths which seemed to help but I eventually brought her to the ER for antibiotics. I got some prescribed but had some issues getting the prescription filled so I talked to some of my March Moms and they suggested using Tea Tree Oil. I didn’t have any but I did have Melrose which has melaleuca alternifolia in it aka Tea tree oil.
I’ve been applying it 1-2x daily diluted with a carrier oil (jojoba) and I’m happy to report that it’s well on it’s way to healing WITHOUT antibiotics. Antibiotics are great and amazing but I’m absolutely nervous about the over use so whenever natural methods help I’m pretty darn excited!
If you want to learn more about EOs shot me an email (Christa@littlebgcg.com) or if you already know you need them in your life head here.
On to Mason! I’m so proud of him, I think I mentioned this already but he knows how to spell his own name and writes it.
So it’s not perfect but the fact is he’s doing it. I didn’t ask him to even try it. HE did it on his own with no prompting! He seems to be taking such an interest in learning and that’s so awesome to me! I get nervous that as a boy our school system may fail him but it seems to me that he has a thirst for knowledge that may help him!
TGIT
Anyone else watching How to Get Away with Murder? Anyone else loving it? I knew from the previews it was going to be good but I was a little nervous it wouldn’t live up to the hype but it totally did! Thursday nights have got to be one of my favorite TV nights but I’m also loving Sunday. Once Upon a Time, Resurrection and Revenge. Gotta love good TV!
What shows are you loving?
