The Holidays are *full* of cooking for me. Our main one is Thanksgiving but of course we also have Christmas. We do something on Christmas Eve but on Christmas morning we make a huge breakfast. Shrimp and Grits, hash browns, bagels, eggs, more food then you could ever need or eat but it’s become quite a tradition.
This year I’m beyond excited to have kicked this stove to the curb
and replaced it with this MayTag 6.2 cu. ft. capacity induction range with EvenAir™ true convection and Speed Heat™ induction elements.
Here’s a closer look at the stove top
My old stove had coils, coils which were bent and uneven which made cooking a lot harder, almost nothing cooked evenly especially on the bigger burners which were essential for cooking our meals. On the good side, it worked. But needless to say when we got the MayTag stove I was thrilled.
There are so many things to love about this new stove.
Without a doubt my favorite feature is the Speedheat, it’s what makes dinner so much easier every single night. Pretty much with every single dinner we have water that needs to be boiled. I used to *hate* waiting for water to boil sometimes it felt like forever. With the speed heat water is boiling in no time at all.
Another thing I love about this range is how easy it is to clean the stove.
This stove uses AquaLift Self Clean Technology. The process is really easy. You wipe down any extra pieces that may be in the stove and then pour two cups of water into the bottom of the stove after removing the wire racks.
Press clean and then start! It only takes 40 minutes at around 200 degrees to clean the oven!
After the 40 minutes was up I open the stove. It looked pretty similar to the before picture but then I started wiping it down with paper towels and used a scrubbing pad for the extra hard stuff.
Before long everything from the bottom of the stove was gone. I have to have B do a little more scrubbing on it to get the stuff that was on the back. I was having a really hard time because of my big ole 27+ week pregnant belly!
Some of our favorite dinners get baked (think Chicken in the Oven or Lasagna) so having the speed heat for cooking the noodles or boiling potatoes for Mashed Potatoes with the chicken AND the easy clean for the oven (Lasagna almost always have over spill) makes it so much easier for me to cook and clean. And because the oven doesn’t have to get ridiculously hot to clean and since it only uses water it makes it really easy to clean the stove weekly (now if only I could remind myself of that).
What if anything about your stove makes Dinner Easier? What would you like most about having this stove?
I would love to have a stove like this one. I like the AquaLift Self Clean Technology feature and the speedheat features. We have the coils too and I would much prefer something like this.
See, now I have had a flat top stove with the same burners for the past 4 years and I really dislike it. When something boils over, it’s darn near impossible to get it all cleaned off once the heat hits the liquid/food. It’s really a pain to keep clean 🙁 I would love to go back to coils.
We had coils on our stove in an apartment and it was terrible. The pots would always sit at an angle because they were so bent!
I would love this stove! I love the idea of the speed heat feature! I hate waiting for water to boil, especially when I only have a little bit of time to cook.
This is so beautiful! I love the warming section – what a great use of otherwise wasted space!
Easy to clean! I like that!
omg love that it is easy to clean!!!
i love that it has a warmer and how easy it is to clean!
That stove looks so much better than the old one. I have to say that I am not a fan of coils and find the flat surface so much easier to clean. My mother has this stove and loves it too. I live for cooking with gas. But you either love gas or hate it. Looks great!
I actually love that our stove is gas because when Sandy hit we could still cook. It was great.
I miss having a gas stove but I haven’t had one in so long. I don’t think we’re set up for gas here (not that I know how any of that works lol).
I would love that extra warming burner!!
Very nice oven!
