Earlier this week I was running around like a crazy person trying to get myself and the kids prepared for our trip to New York. At least once a year the kids and I pack up the car and drive six hours to see my family in New York. This time while I was driving I made a mental list of all the things I will miss in Virginia while I’m in New York and all the things I miss about New York when I’m in Virginia. Virginia’s list includes multiple playgrounds, places to go thrifting, my friends and everything being within a 10-15 minute drive. New York’s list includes a variety of food places, my family and TWO Targets within a 15-20 minute drive. I kid you not.
Anyone who knows me knows that Target is my favorite place. Just ask my dear friend who even made me a shirt to celebrate our love for Target. It’s a real thing. My favorite spot is the dollar spot. You can find just about anything in there from beauty essentials to décor.
I especially love it for seasonal items. I can always find cute props and decorations for pretty much any holiday. Now that I’m in New York, I’m planning on hitting up BOTH Targets (YAY!!!!) because 4th of July is just around the corner and we’re having a party! As always my first stop is the dollar spot. I grabbed two of these 4th of July headbands for Kyla and I. Yes. I’m THAT mom.
Typically The Dollar spot is just a huge distraction (one I love) from what I usually come to Target for. The everyday essentials. We love all the organic options that Target has, so often we go there just for those things like the milk, pasta and even ketchup!
For our upcoming 4th of July party I’m in charge of all the paper products. So, of course, Target was where I wanted to go. Who in their right mind wouldn’t pick Target when you can get all the basics and all the fun stuff in one spot!?
Up & Up paper towels, toilet paper, forks/spoons/knives and plates were a must. I also grabbed some Archer Farms Loaded Baked Potato Dip (so tempted to eat this WAY before the party).
I also grabbed some fresh fruit and whipped cream so I can make a fun dessert that we’ll be taste testing a few days before just to make sure it’s good enough to serve to others 😉
I’m so excited for all the goodies we got to make our 4th of July awesome! We’re going to have a blast and I can’t wait to grab some official pictures of Mason and Kyla in the outfits and fun headbands I got at Target!
Tell me I’m not alone, do you go into Target to get the everyday essentials and walk out with WAY more?
