School is just around the corner here in Virginia which means that we need to get back into a routine. No more starting to think about dinner at 6pm when we get home from the river! Instead dinner has to be planned ahead since we’ve only got about 3 hours from when Mason gets home from school to when we need to start bedtime. Three hours is not a lot of time to spend time with your children, do activities AND make and eat dinner. Since we’re on limited time I’m all about slow cooker meals and lately I’ve been SUPER into my InstaPot! What I love about my InstaPot is that once it’s going, you don’t have to worry about it again. Which might explain why I decided to make Instant Pot Pasta.
Yes! Instant Pot pasta! See pasta in a red sauce is one of my go-to quick meals during the week and I really have very little to complain about. It doesn’t take too much time to make and you don’t have to watch it too much. With that being said my time is limited so anything to save me a little time and I’ll do it. This meal is SUPER quick to make and being able to set it up and walk away makes life even easier than your traditional pasta! There’s no bubbling over, straining of the pasta or using a second pan to heat up the sauce. It’s a one pot wonder! Don’t believe me? Check it out!
See how easy that was?! Instant Pot pasta can totally be done! There is enough sauce in here to add in your favorite protein of choice, shrimp would be AMAZING in this. You can spice it up too by adding a little bit of crushed red pepper! If you don’t have an InstantPot yet you *need* to grab one. I have this one.
We chose to use Barilla Tomato Basil pasta sauce because there are no preservatives, it’s gluten free and made with non-gmo ingredients. I had never tried the Tomato Basil and absolutely loved it, I was impressed when I read the ingredients and I could pronounce everything easily. We used Barilla Blue Box Penne but their Rotini would work nicely also. Both allow the sauce to hug the pasta perfectly! They’re both enriched with Iron and B Vitamins, have a low glycemic index and are also made with non-GMO ingredients.
When you grab your ingredients to make this easy pasta make sure you head to Walmart. For every box of Barilla Blue Box pasta purchased at Walmart between 8/10/2017 – 10/31/2017, Barilla will donate $1 to No Kid Hungry, up to $50,000. That’s enough to provide 500,000 meals to kids in need. Learn more at here. 1 in 6 kids in America are hungry and this is a simple way your every day purchases can make a difference.
I’m still amazed with how quick and easy this was! I can’t wait to do it again, pasta in the Instant Pot, who knew?!
