Two weeks in one! The holidays left this ole blog getting a little dusty but I’ll be back in action this week. Mason is back to school and I have a ton of baby related stuff to share!
Yay! Baby has reached full term. She likely measures around 18.9 to 20.9 inches and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. He’s gaining about 1/2 ounce each day. She’s practicing some skills: inhaling, exhaling, sucking, gripping and blinking. He’s getting his first sticky poop (called meconium) ready for his first diaper.
Baby is about 18.9 to 20.9 inches long and weighs about 6.2 to 9.2 pounds. His head is now about the same circumference as her abdomen. She may have about an inch or so of hair already. He’s slowly shedding that white goo on her skin (called vernix caseosa) but you might see some of it at birth.
How Far Along: 38 Weeks
Due Date: January 15th, 2016
Boy or girl: Team Green
Currently craving/Avoiding: I’m still craving carbonated beverages. I know terrible. It makes me want to find and bust out my SodaStream! So much better for me than typical soda.
Weight: Officially up 12lbs. Thanks holidays.
Belly button status: Forever, In!
Sleep grade: Could be better. Earlier this week I didn’t go to bed until 4am because I couldn’t fall asleep thanks to my hear racing and shortness of breathe.
Symptoms?: All day long heartburn. Indigestion. Sleepy. Back ache. So. Pregnant.
Health/Appointments: Both my appointments have been quick 30 minute appointments. There isn’t much to talk about at this point. I’m DONE with my shots so I don’t see the nurse anymore. My last shot was at 36+3. Baby’s heart rate is good and my blood pressure has been good as well. The only thing I’m struggling with at this point is I’m having a hard time breathing at points. To the point where I need to sit down even if the only thing I’m doing is standing.
I got my results back and I’m GBS negative. I feel like I owe this to my Garden of Life prental vitamins and the Woman’s Health probiotics I’m taking. I did a similar regiment with Kyla and was also GBS negative. With Mason I took some generic vitamins and no probiotics and was GBS positive.
Movement: This baby is always super active at night. Still moving like crazy. I love watching my belly move while the baby moves around and the kids get a kick out of it too!
Names: You don’t actually have to name a baby right? Names are so overrated.
Baby related purchases: I actually have something to add to this! I bought a pack of gender neutral newborn onesies that had elephants on them. I also purchased one boy and one girl newborn outfit. I also got a storage system for the babies clothes, to go along with it I got baskets. I also ordered “Nursies When the Sun Shines” so I can try to avoid tandem nursing, at least at night! I already started using the concept and it seems to be working but it’s not perfect at all!

Oh my goodness, how exciting!! I had my first daughter at 38 weeks… being on baby watch is nerve wracking but wonderful!!! <3 – http://www.domesticgeekgirl.com
