Ever since I was a teenager I have LOVED beauty masks and scrubs. I remember my grandma used to use St Ives Apricot scrub and I think that’s what got me hooked on scrubs and face masks. Now I tend to make my own beauty masks. My most recent being a DIY Clay Mask. My favorite masks are the ones that harden on your face. I like “knowing” that it’s ready to come off and I love the way it feels. It’s almost like I can feel my pores shrinking.
Last year I learned about Bentonite Clay and I was so excited to be able to make my own beauty masks with it. Once I started using Essential Oils I knew I wanted to add them into my clay mask for their added benefits. My choice of oils were Frankincense and Tea Tree Oil. There are a ton of other great essential oils for your skin but since I always have these on hands they seemed like the best choice! Why were Frankincense and Tea Tree oil the best choices for me? Because they’re great for skin support.
Why Bentonite Clay?
Bentonite Clay binds to toxins helping you remove them from your body and while I know that our body does a great job of getting rid of toxins on it’s own we’re exposed to so many on a daily basis I figure a little help can’t hurt!
Putting this mask together is super easy. Mix together 1/4 cup Bentonite Clay and 1/4 cup water until smooth. You may have to add more water to get the mask as smooth as you want it to be. Add 10 drops frankincense and 5 drops tea tree. Mix again. Then apply a thin layer to your face and let it harden.
I usually keep my mask on for over 30 minutes. Once you take it off you’ll find that your skin is a little red. This is NORMAL and not something to be concerned about. I do this mask about 1-2x a week depending on need.
When it comes to anything I’m putting on my skin high quality oils are an absolute must which is why there is only one brand that I will use! If you love making your own beauty products and other items with Essential Oils you’ll want this great deal.
