This week was filled with birthdays, all of January is for my family! This week we celebrated Mason’s 5th birthday and mine. See Mason was born the day after my birthday. I spent my entire birthday 5 years ago in labor. The night before my birth I was feeling off and achey but I didn’t realize it was the very beginning of labor. But when I woke up at 6:30am because I felt a “pop” I knew Mason was going to be born much closer to my birthday than I had intended. His full birth story is here.
I spent my birthday celebrating with a friend and coming home to my family and a special dinner. I spent the rest of the night making, and re-making birthday cupcakes for Mason. Mason had school and was able to celebrate with his friends. After school we headed to the children’s museum where he played with friends, had pizza for lunch and got sung to again.
His one birthday request was that he got to sleep downstairs so after dinner we watched Fern Gully and America’s Funniest Home Videos. It was adorable watching him watch America’s Funniest Home Videos, he was cracking up. Shortly after he fell asleep on the couch. It was a great day!
