What I love most about this picture is that they’re sitting on the same side of the booth, not because I asked them too but because they wanted too. It gave me a glimpse of how things are changing and how they’re evolving as siblings.
The last week has been rough on us. Mason wasn’t feeling well so he missed school. By Friday I thought he was better so I sent him to school. It was clear by mid-day that he not only wasn’t better, he was worse. I felt so awful for him.
It was so bad we had to cancel his birthday party. At first I wasn’t sure what to do, I kept going back and forth, I was afraid he’d wake up and be fine and we would have canceled for no reason. Finally I asked him. And he told me.
“…cancel. I don’t want to get my friends sick.”
You know your kid is sick when they WANT you to cancel their birthday party.
So cancel we did and I’m SO glad we did because he wasn’t better.
Here’s hoping this next week brings some healing.
