Mason is finally getting into the age where he can start to play board games (with our help of course) and it is so fun. Board Games were a huge part of family activities for us especially around the Holidays.
In fact, my Dad’s side of the family goes by this philosophy.
So much so that there are some people in our family who won’t even play a board game with us! I’m the first to admit. It can get a little intense and we have some family stories that continue to make the rounds and they center around playing board games with the G Family.
Now of course, I do NOT want Mason to feel this way about board games. At least not yet. 😉 But I do want him to know how to *enjoy* a good board game and I’m loving the Wonder Forge games!
The Wonder Forge games feature some of Mason’s favorite characters like Jake and the Neverland Pirates and his favorite superheros. And they even have Princess games that my sister Ava loves!
Celebrate your favorite princesses and collect sparkling jewels to decorate your bracelet, ring, and tiara. Are you ready for the ball? Let your inner princess shine in this fantasy-filled dress-up game.
What little girl (or boy for that matter) doesn’t love playing dress up? This is one of my sister’s favorite things to do! The Dazzling Princess game is for ages 4+ and requires 2 or more players. It promotes matching, counting, imaginative play, turn taking and playing together!
You’re invited to a cupcake party with all your favorite princesses! Work together to make as many cupcakes as you can before it’s time for the party. Follow the recipe cards to pick the perfect fancy liner, frosting, and topper. Each cupcake creation is fit for a princess in this sweet game of matching and sharing.
The Enchanted Cupcake Party is for ages 3+ and requires 2 or more players. It promotes physical dexterity, creative expression, turn taking and playing together. While this is clearly marketed to little girls Mason loves playing this game. I’m sure it has something to do with my baking obsession! I love that with this game the age range is a little lower so it makes it easier for Mason and those with younger kids to play!
Calling all Super Friends: The Joker is up to his usual tricks, and he must be stopped! Superman, The Flash, Green Lantern, and Batman team up, calling on their special powers — X-ray vision, lightning speed, force fields, and the Batarang — to dodge The Joker’s gags and stop him in his tracks before he reaches the getaway car. The Fun House game board is supercharged with preschool play power: a wacky rolling ball, secret messages, and a launching Batarang will draw young super heroes into the action!
The Joker Fun House Game is for children 4+ and above and needs 2 or more players. It promotes shape identification, puzzle building, fine motor skills, sorting and matching! Mason is still a little too young for The Joker Fun House Game but it’s the perfect age for my little brother Luke who is 6.
Captain Hook is snoozing in his hammock, surrounded by all the treasure he’s nabbed from Jake and his pirate crew. Spin the spinner to choose your challenge, then use the sword, the fishing pole, or the shovel to pluck a piece of treasure! But steady as she goes–you need to grab the loot without sending Hook tumbling into the water where Tick Tock Croc awaits. This imaginative, play-packed game is sure to be a hit with clever little pirates.
Mason loves playing the Who Shook Hook Game. It’s recommended for ages 4+ and needs 2 or more players. It promotes, physical dexterity, strategic thinking, turn-taking and playing together. Mason will be three in January but this game is still easy enough for him to play, although he’s not always the most graceful with getting things off of Hook’s hammock but he’s learning and that’s all that matters!
Join Jake and the Never Land Pirates for a high-spirited adventure! Grab your pirate gear and crawl, tiptoe, and jump through the vine archways to earn gold doubloons. Each turn offers a chance to prove your playful pirate skills, whether it’s tucking the cannonball under your chin or balancing Jake’s sword on your head. Collect more coins than Captain Hook to win!
The Never Land Challenge Game is for ages 3+ and requires 1 or more players. <—Love that it only requires one player! Makes things very easy on Mommy when Mason wants to play and I’ve got work to do! This game promotes self-confidence, self-discovery, active, up-on-your-feet fun and early reading skills. Mason enjoys this game a lot and I think it’s because it reminds him most of the show especially because it’s a lot like the actual show with collecting coins!
The Never Land Challenge Game was just nominated for the Toy of the Year Award (TOTY) by the Toy Industry Association (TIA) which is a HUGE deal!
