We haven’t had a step stool in forever. We had two while I was pregnant and then after Mason was born but both of them broke. Neither one of them lasted very long and they weren’t very good quality either.
So for the last year or so we’ve been just being putting Mason on the toilet seat and leaning him over which has not been good for the lids since he leans forward and pushes it out a little which makes them looser and looser each passing day! I kept meaning to get one but I could never find one that was sturdy enough for our little guy!
Enter the Joovy StepTool.
Despite Mason being on his toes he doesn’t need to to be. I love that it has non-slip grips both on the bottom and also on the top. It makes it safer for Mason.
I love that it’s also light and small so it fits in both bathroom in our house. This is the smallest bathroom in our house and it fits in perfectly.
As you can see he can reach the sink perfectly fine.
As I mentioned it’s easy to transport so we (including Mason) can bring it to the upstairs bathroom or the downstairs bathroom.
I also love that it’s BPA, PVC and Phthalate free. Not only can it safely hold Mason but also me as well and even B. Which is perfect for things that I need around the kitchen (I’m short). It can hold up to 300lbs.
The Joovy StepTool retails for $19.99 and can be purchased on the Joovy website.

This is my favorite step stool! I too love the no slip grip. both on the bottom and on the top where kids stand. I also like the weight capacity. The whole family can use it! Now that is a win for such a great price!
I actually need a step stool right now. We have one realllllyyy old one and then a newer one that just broke. Thanks for the info!
You can never have too many step stools, seriously! I wish we had one in every bathroom, in the kitchen, in each kid’s room… ya know?! And haha I definitely use Ryan’s stool, too. Ohh and a fun tip – turn it upside down and use it as a bucket for… anything! 🙂
We need to get one of these! Our daughter is 2 1/2 and I am still holding her to wash her hands… being pregnant that is getting harder and harder for me. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
This looks like a great stool. We have 2 wooden ones that were given to us.
This step stool looks and sounds really supportive. I am constantly standing on chairs to clean or kill spiders (lol) and I dont feel sturdy at all. Thank you for the review.
My friend has one of these and it is awesome.
Get stool. I think I need that.. LOL
We need to get one of those! We just have a typical $7 one from Target but it barely has any support & my son has almost fallen off a few times.
I could use one of these for each room, honestly. My son has developed some weird infatuation with stepstools! He wants to see EVERYthing. I love that this is made from a durable, yet safe, plastic.
I’m with Emily, you can definitely never have enough foot stools! Being a shorty I use ours all the time but this one looks like it would be much better than what we have. Thanks for the review!
Thanks for the info. I need to purchase one of these.
This looks like a great stool. I need to purchase for my son!
I bought Kynlee a step stool from a retailer a few weeks ago and I pretty much hate it! It is soo flimsy and it definitely won’t hold as much weight as this one from Joovy seems to! Also, her step stool is barely tall enough for her to reach the sink, which poses a problem. Going to have to check into this one for sure!
