Mei Tai’s are one of my favorite types of carriers! I think they’re so easy to use and really comfortable. One of my favorite things about Mei Tai’s is that their the easiest carries to customize. And what do I mean by this you ask? You can add a pocket! And Penny in Your Pocket does just that! And I love it! I find it so useful. I don’t know about you but I constantly have my cell phone on me and I’m constantly baby wearing but I’m not constantly carrying around a purse or a diaper bag and since having M I’ve been more into stretchy pants than pants that have pockets. I know I know #babyweightlossFAIL.
I love that my Penny in Your Pocket Mei Tai has a pocket that I can easily stash my cell phone, a diaper and some wipes into. It makes going for quick walks so easy. I find myself reaching for it again and again because it’s so convenient to have the pocket and not have to carry everything. And I don’t lose the functionality of the carrier, which is really important. I know you can add pockets with Ring Slings but then I feel like it loses the reason why you would pick a Ring Sling because you can’t adjust it.
Another great thing about this carrier? It’s comfortable, the weight is evenly distributed and my back and shoulders don’t hurt from wearing it! It also washes well which is definetely a great thing because not only is M a drooler but little A and L always have sticky hands! And you know how much they’re always trying to get to M, whether he’s in a baby carrier or not!
There’s the pocket, it blends in so nicely! And did I mention that when I don’t have anything in my pocket I pull it over M’s head to cover him if I need too?
And there’s it with my cell phone in the pocket. As you can see it’s wide enough and long enough to carry a diaper and some wipes if you need it to or various other items!

“I started my shop after being laid off from my full-time position. Because we were subsequently short on money, I decided to save some money and try to make a baby carrier for my pregnant friend. I made it out of this fabric that was “so her” and tried to make it a little more functional then the carrier I received. She loved it and found that people wanted to know where she got it whenever she was out and about. She said, “You need to sell these carriers!” So, I found Etsy and opened the shop, which is named after my daughter, Penelope. That sums it up!”
I love supporting WAHMs. It seriously makes my day. One day I hope to be a WAHM!!
