Even the suggestion of cancer can send a person reeling. Maybe it was you in the position of hearing the C-word. Maybe it was a family member or friend. Either way your mind immediately goes to a thousand different places.
It can be incredibly overwhelming and frustrating. You can’t help but wonder “Why Me?, Why Us?”. When you’re a woman undergoing cancer treatment it can be even more disheartening. The physical effects of cancer treatment can leave you feeling even less like yourself.
That’s where Look Good Feel Better comes in. Look Good Feel Better is a non-profit organization that understands that the appearance changes women go through while coping with cancer treatment is more than skin deep, it’s emotional. It can effect their courage and confidence as they battle cancer. They work hard to help women feel better through various tools including a virtual makeover tool that allows women to upload a picture of themselves and give themselves a make over.
In honor of their 25th Anniversary they’re hosting an awesome giveaway where one participant has the chance to win a trip to the National Women’s Survivors Convention in Nashville, TN July 31st through August 2nd 2014 to connect her with other women who have survived cancer. If you were and *are not* a cancer survivor you can gift the win to someone who is! Can you imagine how happy that would make them? This contest ends on July 1st, 2014.
- Visit the Look Good Feel Better website to try the Virtual Makeover tool
- Use the Look Good Feel Better Virtual Makeover tool by uploading your photo and trying the new hair and makeup looks. Through this experience, women everywhere can experience, in a small way, the help women living with cancer receive during a Look Good Feel Better workshop so that they can “reimagine beauty” and the impact Look Good Feel Better can have on women undergoing cancer treatment.
- Share the “after” photo from the Virtual Makeover tool on Facebook or Twitter, using the hashtag #ReimagineBeauty, to spread awareness and to be entered for a chance to win a trip to the National Women’s Survivors Convention to participate in the Look Good Feel Better 25th anniversary party.
The winner will be randomly selected from all photos shared on Facebook and Twitter during the campaign, using the hashtag #ReimagineBeauty.
I checked out the Virtual Makeover Tool myself, here’ s my before and after:
It was really easy to use and I was surprised at how well the hair portion worked out. Yes you can tell it’s not my real hair but I still think it gives me a good idea of what that hair style and color would look like on me! In fact it’s inspired me to change up my style!
