I’m embarrassed to say how long my television screen has been disgustingly dirty. Smudged with hand prints of all three of my children and lord only knows what else. For whatever reason after we ran out of the TV cleaner that came with the TV we never got around to getting another one.
Instead every so often I would scrub it fruitlessly with a microfiber cloth. It was getting to the point where if we didn’t turn off the lights at night when we were watching tv the glare from our lamp off of the grimy hand prints would make it impossible to see the TV.
Like I said, embarrassing.
The other night I was sitting down watching something while I got some things done and I had decided I had enough, so I vowed to purchase a TV screen cleaner the very next day. Then I remembered I wouldn’t have a car–so I googled how to make my own. I came across a few different options but one was by far my favorite.
Two simple ingredients that I already had in my home. SOLD.
What were they? Rubbing alchohol and distilled water.
Could it get any easier?
The next morning I mixed some up, used it, and was AMAZED. I’m still kicking muself that I didn’t do a before and after. It was miraculous.
This “recipe” is super simple. Just fill a bottle size of your choice with 1 part water and 1 part rubbing alcohol.
Told ya it was easy!
I used a clear 8oz glass bottle I had that wasn’t currently in use. If you don’t already have one, you can get some here for fairly cheap! This next step is important–do not spray directly on the screen. Instead spray it on your cloth first. THEN rub your screen down.
I didn’t grab a before and after of my TV screen but I did happen to grab one of my computer screen. Check it out:
