Four years ago I remember anxiously waiting for my copy of The Hunger Games to become available at the library. I devoured it and then anxiously waited for Catching Fire and Mockingjay to be available as well. I’ve done the same things for the movies. I couldn’t wait for them to come out and then I anxiously awaited the next movie coming out. I can’t believe the last movie is finally here. Just a few more days and the waiting will be over.

I’m SO excited to see Mockingjay-Part 2 which officially gets released in theaters Friday, November 20th. I plan on getting my tickets in advance and you should too, I’m sure they’ll sell out quickly opening weekend! I don’t know about you but this mama could use a Girl’s Night out and spending the night with Katniss, Peeta and Gale sounds like the perfect way to do it.

Lately a few friends and I have been having play dates for the kiddos and movie dates for the mommies. The kids play in the kitchen while we watch whatever movie we want. This time around in anticipation of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2 we watched Mockingjay-Part 1. These dates are usually in the morning so I provided light food and snacks and of course they had to be Mockingjay Inspired.

First up was “Nightlock Jam” and crackers. This was meant specifically for the kids. We also made some “Nightlock Peanut Butter & Jellies”. I promise no children were injured in the consumption of Nightlock Jam. 😉

Then we had “Peeta” Chips and Girl on Fire Salsa aka pita chips with hot salsa.

The “main course” was Caesar Flickerman salad.

I also made these two AWESOME FREE printable signs that I printed and placed in the viewing room. I’m thinking that if this baby is a girl I’m going to have to find a spot in this baby’s space to hang up “Be The Girl on Fire” and “The Fire Will Burn Forever“. <—Click there to download.

Watching Mockingjay Part 1 got me so excited for Part 2 and this trailer was the icing on the cake.
