When you think of an Outdoor Oasis what do you think about? A couple of years ago it would have been me in a hammock with a cocktail in one hand and a good book in the other, preferably by some sort of water like a pool or a beach!
But now it’s a little different. Now my outdoor oasis involves entertaining my kids (and their friends) so I can relax and have a good conversation with my friends while watching my kids enjoy themselves too! Don’t get me wrong though I’ll still take Outdoor Oasis number 1 at any time!
Not too long ago I was able to accomplish just that with a couple of great items from the Pier 1 Outdoor line.
First we set up the water bounce house which for the most part took care of the kids.
We also had a ring toss set up for them for when they needed a break from the water. Even the adults got in on the action.
Then I set up and outdoor rug with outdoor lanterns that had citronella candles in them to keep the bugs . I’m big on keeping bugs away because it’s not an outdoor oasis with bugs flying in your face! I got one medium white jeweled lantern and two mini lanterns in the same style!
We all hung out on the rug and around it while we talked and watched the kids. It was a blast!
Another must have from Pier 1 are food covers. It allowed us to keep the veggie tray out with easy access while protecting it from any flys or other bugs that weren’t fazed by the citronella candles!
Speaking of food we kept it super kid friendly, chicken nuggets, pasta salad, watermelon, veggies and juice boxes. The mamas had iced coffee!
and GRAPES which seems to be Mason’s new favorite!
It was a such a beautiful day and I can’t wait for more outdoor oasis play dates in the future!

Love the rug! We are working on our backyard now, I think a rug would be a great addition.
