I’m a big fan of Weddings but not just the wedding itself but everything that comes before it. I love the planning of it. I have an entire board on Pinterest devoted to Weddings and ever since I was a little girl I’ve been known to browse wedding magazines and gather and clip ideas Monica Gellar style!
And the parties, I LOVE the parties, the engagement party is always fun but it’s the Bridal Shower that I’m always most excited about. Getting together with all the your girlfriends and the women in your family and soon to be family is so much fun!
Some of you may not know this but B and I aren’t married. So I still have a Bridal Shower in my future and to be quite honest I’m pretty darn excited about the prospect of one! On Saturday mornings TLC often plays this show called Four Weddings back to back to back and B has been known to sit and watch a couple of episodes with me and then we’ll discuss what we like and don’t like about OPW (other people’s weddings). It turns out we have fairly similar styles, for example we both want a simple, rustic style wedding that will never go out of style.

I would want the Bridal shower to carry on that theme, hopefully outdoors possibly at this gorgeous Lavender farm here in Virginia. We’d drink Mimosas from Riedel Vivant champagne flutes. We’d keep the mimosas coming while playing dorky but fun games but because I love coffee (and have kids to get home too) it would be so fun to have a Nespresso Pixie Espresso Machine there. I’m sure someone would love to play barista!
But here’s the thing I’m not the only one who loves to throw parties, so does B! So it would almost be rude not to include him in this especially since I wouldn’t be a Bride-to-Be without a Groom-to-Be. While the girls are talking all things house and home and mixing drinks for ourselves and the boys, he’d be doing what he loves best, grilling out. Maybe his “Bridal Shower” gift could be this fancy pants Weber Genesis E-310 Gas Grill that he could test out that very day!
Thinking about that day is so much fun for me and of course these would only be subtle suggestions for whoever’s hosting **cough** Mom **cough** because even though I haven’t gotten married yet lord knows I know it would be tacky to throw my own bridal shower 😉
