p>For the last two years I will be doing Thanksgiving in Virginia with my little family–B, Mason and I. His Dad will also join us but it’s still not a lot of people at our Thanksgiving.
Even with the limited amount of people we go ALL out. Everyone has their favorites to choose from and I still make 3-5 desserts. We pretty much each get a pie to ourselves! It’s so important to me that everyone has their favorite dish, food and family is what Thanksgiving is all about!
This year I won’t make as many desserts but all of our main and side dishes will be the same even if less people will be here this year. I hope that one year we can host Thanksgiving for my ENTIRE family. I miss not being with them on Thanksgiving, even three years later it feels weird!
I want them to be able to sit back and relax while I make the food. I want them to discover *new* Thanksgiving favorites. Or at least new to them! I always try to do a new dish for Thanksgiving. If it’s really good we keep it for the next year or we try a new dish. This year our new dish will be Au Gratin Potatoes.
Au Gratin Potatoes are my absolute favorite and I always have them for my Birthday. I did a test run and they came out DELICIOUS. I know that with confidence I can share it on Thanksgiving Day.
I’m kinda hoping this picture will entice my family to jump in the car and make the 6 hour drive to Virginia to spend Thanksgiving with me.
A girl can dream right!?

Plus?! If you manage to have left overs you can cook two over easy eggs and put them over the heated up Au Gratin potatoes. So yummy!
