On a whim I went out with Mason to the local thrift store, I hadn’t been in a while and I wanted to see what they had.
As always I’m looking for baking items but also old furniture that I can revamp (or pretend to revamp) and just recently frames.
I’m looking for a large frame that I can re-purpose into a blackboard. I want to hang it in my room to help me keep tracks of my workouts, vitamins and to write random notes. I want a wide and long one Maybe 3×1 or even 3×2.
Anyway I didn’t get lucky with baking items or furniture but I did get lucky with some frames even though it wasn’t exactly the size I wanted they were still great frames and I planed on converting them all into blackboards.
Here’s what I got:
and to give an idea of size:
I’m obsessed with them! I can’t wait to turn them into a blackboard. I’m still trying to figure out exactly the best way to do that (you can’t remove the backs of the two wooden ones) and what color I want to paint the actual frames. I was thinking white but I also thinking maybe hot pink or a fun teal! These are some of the colors that caught my eye
Which one do you like best?
My walls are white if that helps! Thinking of MAYBE putting one in Mason’s room to write notes to him. In which case I’ll do yellow since his walls are grey!

Okay before I saw the colors, I was totally thinking yellow.

I <3 Yellow, I just have to find one I'm in love with in person. I think for the mirror I'm going to paint it yellow and then use antiquing glaze tinted hot pink! Thoughts??

I like the yellow (both my boys favorite color) and the teal, but I painted some frames a dark plum and they came out awesome. Did you know you can supposedly use the glass surface with a dry erase marker, too? According to Pinterest, that is. I’ve been on a spray paint kick lately. I have a green, two plum and one dark red frames, all without glass or backs. Haven’t done anything yet, other than take pics of the boys in them, but enjoyed painting them!

I looked for a dark plum but couldn’t find one that I really liked, I think it’s a great idea!

I used Krylon Fusion spray paint from wall mart – nice color selection.

Love the first frame and would do it in the Yellow sun! I would love a frame like that for my little girls room and turn it into a mirror or put a really cute picture in that matches her theme 🙂

I love that first frame! I have been looking for a similar one to turn into a chalk board for our house. Love it!
