For quite some time now once the kids fall asleep I “treat” myself to pretty much any sugar I can get my hands on. Sometimes it’s ice cream and other times its candy. After a long and often exhausting day of keeping up with the kids, keeping up with the house, my business and everything else that I do (we moms do a lot) a bowl of ice cream or some cookies feels good. But the next morning when I’m feeling all kinda of bloated and not like my best self, I regret it! It’s a super bad habit, one I need to break. But it’s easier said than done. My mouth and hands still long for that special treat but man I can do without the calories.
Lately instead of a bowl of ice cream or something else equally filled with calories I’ve been making an effort to reach for something else like, Celestial Seasonings tea. Years ago I was obsessed with one of their blends called Candy Cane Lane, it’s seasonal, only available around Christmastime and out of this world delicious.
With Fall here I’ve been all about the fall flavors. Not just your typical pumpkin spice though. I’m the odd duck here instead totally loving all things maple. It’s such an underrated fall flavor so when I spotted the Vermont Maple Ginger I knew I had to try it. The Cinnamon Apple Spice is another perfect fall flavor. And since my nightly ritual is being halted and new habits are forming Honey Vanilla Chamomile, and Sleepytime made it into my cart as well to help set me up for success.
The amount of flavors they have will make it easy for you to find a flavor to fall in love with. The real problem will be sticking to just a few boxes. Celestial Seasonings has been blending all their flavors in Boulder, Colorado since 1969. Leaders in sustainability they love creating the perfect tea for everyone!
I think my favorite thing about drinking more tea is that I can share it with my kids. Now when they ask for a sip of what’s in my mug I have no problem saying “sure”. You should have seen the look on their faces when I told them I’d make them their very own cups after dinner. It was the Sleepytime blend of course, absolutely perfect for cool fall nights. It warms their bodies and makes their eyelids droop. As for them I think their favorite part (besides me saying yes) is the tea bag!
Notice something different about this tea bag? There’s not string, or staple or a separate pouch to hold it in. What’s the big deal about that? By packaging their teas in natural fiber in a pillow style tea bag without the string, tag, staple or individual wrapper it saves more than 3.5 million pounds of waste from entering landfills every year. I don’t know about you but limiting the waste my family produces is important to me and knowing that Celestial Tea cares too makes me love their teas even more!
I picked up my Celestial Teas at Walmart in store but they’re also available through online grocery pick up! New to online grocery pick up? Get your $10 off here.
