Ever since I got my Blendtec I’ve been giving it a workout. I was just saying to some friends today that I tend to really only use it for smoothies. I know that it can do so much more than that but smoothies are just so easy to make. Now that I have a Blendtec my fruit intake has gone way up.
It’s really been a good thing for me because typically I’m not a fruit person. I want to be but certain fruits I can only take in by drinking them in a frosty smoothie. My favorite smoothies involve pomegranate juice for a couple of reasons. 1) I love it. 2) it masks the taste of some fruits I don’t like. I tend to stick to the same smoothie most mornings but have been adding something a little different lately, Organic Morniga Leaf Powder. Today’s smoothie, Pomegranate Berry Kale Smoothie has the added boost of Morniga Leaf Powder.
Native to India, Moringa has been used worldwide to combat malnutrition. It is a nutritionally complex whole food naturally abundant in vitamins, minerals and amino acids. Daily use of Moringa can help to restore your imbalances, add concentrated superfood nutrition to your diet and help you to consume the recommended 6-10 servings of vegetables per day.
It has 90 nutrients, 46 antioxidants and abundant minerals. Needless to say it’s a “superfood” and the obvious choice for an extra boost to my morning smoothie. Since it’s in powder form you can also add it to so many different things for an added nutritional boost. It’s delicious when added to my banana muffins. Oragnic India the makers behind the Morniga Leaf Powder I use have a variety of products including teas and Morniga in capsule form!
My kids are super picky so brewing up so Morniga Sweet Tea and baking more with the powder is a must for us! And of course smoothies! Kyla loves smoothies and is constantly wanting to drink mine. The recipe I’m sharing today is a single serving but if you have little ones I recommend making a double batch and splitting it with them!
In addition to the Morniga Leaf Powder I also use Wyman’s Strawberries, Blueberries and Cherries with Kale mix for this smoothie. I always have a bag in my freezer!
