A couple of years ago I was introduced to The Divergent book series by Veronica Roth. I was immediately hooked. My little sister read them around the same time that I did and we would compare notes. We would ask each other and others what “Faction” we were. Erudite? Dauntless? Candor? Abnegation? Amity?
My sister always picked quickly “Dauntless”.
Me on the other hand I struggled. What faction would I choose? I quickly realized I was “Divergent”. It really makes you think about who you are as a person and how you would be have if you were forced to only showcase one portion of yourself. Throughout the series it explores what it means to be different and how it can effect your life on numerous levels.
When I found out they were making the books into a movie I was nervous, I love the books! Could I love the movies just as much? After seeing Divergent it was obvious, YES I could!
On March 20th, The Divergent Series: Insurgent, the second installment in the series is making it’s way to theaters.
That’s this Friday, so call a babysitter grab your husband or your girlfriends and get your tickets! The movie will be released in 2D, Digital 3D, IMAX® 3D and RealD™ 3D.
I’m so excited for this movie to come out! The great thing about The Divergent Series: Insurgent is that it’s got something for everyone. It’s not just for Young Adults (who the books were aimed towards) but for adults, both men and women! Don’t believe me? I even convinced B to watch the first movie and he really liked it. It wasn’t the “chick flick, love story” he was expecting. He’s looking forward to this movie coming out too.
I’m not sure who I’m going to see it with just yet but ideally I’m going to re-read the book with a group of friends and head to the theater with them!
Did you read the books? Do you plan on seeing The Divergent Series: Insurgent in theaters?
