On Saturday we had a snow day. It was the first MAJOR snow storm that we’ve gotten all winter and I was MORE than ready for it. I had been really missing New York and all the snow. Snow days are perfect for movie days. I love snuggling up with my kids, a big blanket, a bowl of popcorn and the perfect movie.
We got a copy of Big Hero 6 in the mail a few days before the snow storm. I decided to let Mason open it when we really “needed” it and the snow day was perfect. As he was opening the mail he closed his eyes and said “I hope it’s Big Hero 6”. I felt like a genie when he pulled the movie out. He was SO excited.
“Big Hero 6” is an action-packed comedy adventure that introduces Baymax, a lovable, personal companion robot, who forms a special bond with robotics prodigy Hiro Hamada. When a devastating turn of events catapults them into the midst of a dangerous plot unfolding in the streets of San Fransokyo, Hiro turns to Baymax and his diverse group of friends — adrenaline junkie Go Go Tomago, neatnik Wasabi, chemistry whiz Honey Lemon and fanboy Fred — who transform into a band of unlikely heroes.
I’m not sure why but I always get nervous when I watched a new Disney/Pixar movie. I’m always afraid that I’ll walk away disappointed especially when it’s not a movie I think I’ll be interested in. But once again I’m not even close to being disappointed.
Big Hero 6 was so good. It had me crying and it had me laughing.
And Mason? He loved it too! It’s no surprise at all that Big Hero 6 took home the Best Animated Feature at the Oscars.
Whenever we watch a movie I also love to look for activities that go with the movie. It always adds to our day! Here are some you can use too!
Does your little one love Big Hero 6 as much as Mason does? Maybe they even want a Big Hero 6 Birthday? These ideas and activities should make it a hit!
