I’m a coffee drinker. Every single morning one of the first things I do is get my coffee ready. If you know me you know that I take my coffee light. In fact B will often say to me:
“Do you want any coffee with your creamer?”
And trust me I do, most mornings I NEED my coffee, I’m a night owl but I love my creamers, especially my flavored creamers. Even though I love them I know there is a ton of stuff in them that I really shouldn’t be drinking on a daily basis. Way too much sugar and way too many questionable ingredients. But what’s a girl to do when she can’t get enough of flavored coffee creamers?
Make her own of course! I’m a HUGE mint fan. So naturally the first thing I decided to make was a homemade peppermint mocha coffee creamer. Peppermint Mocha is my absolute favorite coffee creamer. I drink it all year long. I can’t help myself. I used my Peppermint Essential Oil but if you don’t have any food grade Essential Oils on hand you can use Peppermint Extract. If you’re breastfeeding you may want to avoid Peppermint all together.
This recipe is super easy. It’s just a few ingredients whisked together. It stores for about one week.
There are so many options when it comes to making your own coffee creamer. I just got a Cinnamon Bark Essential oil so when I’m all out of this I’m leaning towards a Cinnamon Vanilla maybe with a dash of Nutmeg Essential Oil for a little added spice. I might even go a little crazy and make a citrus coffee creamer. If it’s good in chocolate why not coffee too?
Or maybe I’ll just go with a classic vanilla?!
