Taming of the Beast aka Curly Hair

For as long as I can remember I hated having curly hair. I hate how frizzy it was and how it never seemed to come out good. I pretty much always straightened it.  I think the problem was I didn’t know how to style curly hair. So straight it was. It was way easier to blow out some bangs and flat iron my hair.

But then I became a mom and having 30+ minutes to devote to straightening my hair every morning just wasn’t an option anymore. It’s still fun to do on occasion but all the time? Not possible.

So ever since having kids I learned how to do my hair better, I had little choice.

how to do curly hair

Step 1: Use a good conditioner and comb out the knots with a wide tooth comb in the shower

Step 2: Ring your hair out right before getting out of the shower. Pat dry with the shirt you were wearing earlier basically anything but your towel which will make it more frizzy in the long run!

Step 3: Throw your hair upside down and run your fingers through it breaking up any remaining knots. Use your hands to scrunch it. Separate your bangs if you have any and wrap a hair tie around them.

Step 4: Place a generous amount of HAIR PRODUCT in the palm of your hand and spread throughout your hair. Scrunching as you go. Repeat as many times as you feel the need to.

Step 5: Flip your hair back and blow out your bangs. Then using a blow dryer with a diffuser blow dry the roots of your hair and all around until your hair is relatively dry. This will give it volume and lock in the curls.

Step 6: Spray with a little bit of hair spray for hold and a Styling Oil like Sauve Professionals Moroccan Infusion Styling Oil.

And that’s it! 15 minutes or less and my hair is done and styled for the day!
