Holiday Themed books are the way we roll in this household. We love getting into the holiday spirit with books that talk about the holiday we’re about to or currently celebrating. This Halloween is no exception and I’ve been on the hunt looking for Halloween Books for Preschoolers to add to our collection. I ordered from Amazon and have been scouring the thrift stores!
So far I haven’t been super lucky with thrift stores but maybe you will be? Here are a couple of books we own and others that get good ratings.
This was one of Mason’s first Halloween books and even now years later he loves it!
For pre-school ages. The baby Looney Tunes go trick-or-treating and every toddler will have fun trying to guess whose under the mask. Lift the mask and `Peek-a-boo! ` Here`s Baby Bugs, Baby Tweety, baby Taz and all the gang.
Twas the night before Halloween, and all through the house, All the creatures were stirring, except for the mouse. The monsters had gathered to plan and prepare,For the trick-or-treaters who soon would be there?.
0nce upon a time, there was a little old lady who was not afraid of anything! But one autumn night, while walking in the woods, the little old lady heard . . . CLOMP, CLOMP, SHAKE, SHAKE, CLAP, CLAP. And the little old lady who was not afraid of anything had the scare of her life!
Once there was a witch who longed for pumpkin pie. Unfortunately, the pumpkin she had grown from a seed became so big she simply couldn’t get it off the vine. Although “she pulled and she tugged and she pulled…that pumpkin just sat.”
Along came a ghost. “I am bigger than you and stronger, too,” said he. “Let me try.”
Well, the witch wanted that whole pumpkin for herself. But she needed help — Halloween was just hours away…
Mason just got this from Grammy! He really enjoyed it and I thought it was cute too!
Little ghost Ben can say “Whoo,” and he can say “Moo,” but he can’t say “Boo!” And soon it will be Halloween! Lynda Graham-Barber and Caldecott Honor Winner Barbara Lehman tell a funny and encouraging story — complete with highlighted sound words — for young trick-or-treaters.
I ordered this for Mason recently, I loved the illustration on the cover and decided it was a must. Yes, I judged a book by it’s cover! We think it’s super silly and fun to read! I love that it shows that “Mummy” will always be there!
Little Baby Mummy wants just one more game of hide-and-shriek with Big Mama Mummy before bedtime. The night is deep and dark, full of friendly creatures that click their clacky teeth and whoosh past on flippy-floppy wings. But who will comfort Little Baby Mummy if a small, scritchy-scratchy someone gives him a scare? Big Mama Mummy, of course!
In the dark, a funky beat. Something white with bony feet. Skeleton dancing up the street, Doing the Halloween Hustle. Skeleton is dancing his way to a Halloween party—but as he grooves across town, he keeps stumbling, tumbling, and falling apart! Can Skeleton stay in one piece long enough to make it to the party?
The witch and her cat are happily flying through the sky on a broomstick when the wind picks up and blows away the witch’s hat, then her bow, and then her wand! Luckily, three helpful animals find the missing items, and all they want in return is a ride on the broom. But is there room on the broom for so many friends? And when disaster strikes, will they be able to save the witch from a hungry dragon?
Farmer Brown does not like Halloween. So he draws the shades, puts on his footy pajamas, and climbs into bed. But do you think the barnyard animals have any respect for a man in footy pajamas? No, they do not. For them, the Halloween party has just begun. And we all know these critters far prefer tricks over treats.

These are some good options. I’ve been looking for some good book for my 4 year old. We’ve read a couple of them but I’ll have to he the others. Halloween books are our fave.
