Cold & Flu Season isn’t Quite Over Yet!

I am beyond over cold and flu season. It seems like this has been the year that we have gotten hit the worst. If it’s not me (thanks pregnancy immune system, you rock), it’s Mason, if it’s not Mason it’s B.

Baby3 will be born at the end of cold and flu season and that makes me so nervous. I’ve discussed quite a few times how Mason had RSV the first week of his life and it was just awful. We were at the doctors office every day it seemed like and I do not want to go through that again with this baby.

So it’s important that we keep everyone healthy especially Mason who is going to have some trouble understanding boundaries with his baby sister i.e don’t cough in her face, don’t kiss her lips etc.

To be honest when it comes to myself or Mason being sick I don’t often go to the doctor to get antibiotics or even give medicine. I’m a strong believer in that it’s better to let your body fight it naturally so that you build up a great immune system, most of the time I’m able to adhere to that philosophy but sometimes I do need some help especially when it comes to the comfort of Mason.

When choosing a medicine to give him I want it to be as natural as possible and so does B which is why when we need too we turn to Little Remedies. Little Remedies products have exactly what they need to have in order to make your little one feel better and nothing more. No saccharin, alcohol, artificial flavors, artificial coloring, dyes or harmful preservatives.

We do follow some general guidelines though to help make sure that we aren’t getting sick as much as possible, I’m sure you do most of them too!

TipsforDecreasingIlness

  • Wash hands frequently
  • Wiping down the grocery cart when we go to the grocery store.
  • Covering your mouth when you cough or sneeze with your elbow (still working on this with Mason).
  • Daily Multi-Vitamin as well as extra Vitamin C
  • Steering Clear of People we know who are sick i.e. if we know that our friends are getting over a cold we don’t plan a play date! It stinks sometimes but it’s better than being sick!

Follow all the “Don’t Get Sick Tips” and still get sick? The Little Remedies Honey Elixir and Acetaminophen will be perfect for you and get your little ones through the really tough moments of sickness

The Honey Elixir is made with honey to help sooth coughs and sore throats naturally and is suggested for children who are a year or older.

Little Remedies for Fevers uses the new AccuSafe® Dosing for infant acetaminophen products. It’s designed to ensure safe and accurate dosing for infants and minimize the risk of accidental ingestions. Adults use the provided syringe, attach it to the flow restrictor on the bottle turn the bottle upside down and pull back on the syringe to extract the correct dosing amount. This makes it super easy and SAFE to keep in your house!

Next time you head to the store to get some cold or fever relief for your little I encourage you to look at the ingredients you’d be surprised how much stuff you DON’T need is in the medicine. Then check out Little Remedies. The choice should be clear :)

Disclosure: I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Little Remedies. I received product samples as well as a promotional item as a thank-you for participating.
