This Thanksgiving I was thankful for A LOT of things.
One thing I forgot to add to my list? My Maytag French Door Fridge.
Holy Fridge. B and I are obsessed with this thing! We got it the Monday before Thanksgiving which was pretty much perfect timing the other fridge while also a Maytag wasn’t nearly as big and since we do Thanksgiving BIG at our house even though it’s just for oh I dunno 5 people we needed as much room as possible.
This fridge provided more than enough room to store everything we needed. A 22lb turkey, sweet potato casserole, pudding pie, cushaw pie, mashed potatoes, brownies, stuffing, a green bean casserole, a shrimp platter, a cheese ball and a small vegggie platter.
In all the hustle and bustle I forgot to take a photo. Which I was really disappointed about because I seriously felt like I had perfected the art of maximizing my fridge space.
I’m glad I get to do it again come Christmas time!
Even though I don’t have a picture of my super packed Thanksgiving Fridge, I want to share with you a picture of what my fridge looks like right now
It’s kinda hard to to tell from the pictures but there is still PLENTY of room. For example everything on the top shelf is pulled forward so my short self can reach it. The milk is pulled forward too so there is plenty of room behind it. And the creamers are pushed to the back so there is plenty of room in front of it, we usually keep a second milk there.
For us what’s key to having so much space is the drawer underneath.
It’s where I put all of our fruits and veggies and our cheeses which is a lot because Mason and I love cheese. B not so much. We’ve been using it to store an excessive amount of apples specifically honey crisp, Mason has one at LEAST once a day and soon enough we won’t be able to get them because at the stores near us they only come out once a year.
And of course we have our pull out drawer freezer
This also has more room available then it seems. We have a ton of meats stocked in the fridge which is perfect because we usually stock up once a month or so when we see great red tag deals. We’re also stocked on fresh pureed cushaw and pumpkin to help has have fresh yummy pumpkin and cushaw baked goods all year long.
This thing is carrying all of our family staples right now but we still have A TON of room which is perfect for all the left overs that we usually have.
I was talking to B about it and my favorite thing about having all this extra room is that when we make a big pot of something we don’t have to worry about condensing it into smaller containers. Instead I can put plastic wrap or foil over it and just pop it in the fridge. Best thing about that? Less dishes. I don’t have to wash the pot of soup that I cooked it in AND the containers I stored it in. That’s a major win in my book.
I can’t wait to practice my art of Fridge stuffing again as it gets closer to Christmas time. This time it will be an over abundance of baked goods for our friends and family and most importantly Santa! There may even be some reindeer food in there. They’re work hard after all, they deserve a treat too!
