For as long as I lived here and for as long as B has lived here (a total of 6 years) we’ve had most of the same appliances The only thing that had needed to be replaced in the last 6 years was the dishwasher. Both our stove and fridge while they did their job weren’t exactly going to last for much longer. Especially our Fridge. It had begun to freeze things that were in the fridge despite the fact that we had it on the lowest setting. The same thing actually happened to my fridge in college so I’m assuming it’s an old fridge sorta thing?
We could have lived a little longer with the appliances we had but I can’t tell a lie I was BEYOND excited to be able to kick them to the curb and get brand spanking new Maytag Kitchen Appliances. I was most excited to get the stove since our previous stove wasn’t so hot.
My favorite feature of the stove is the Speed Heat. It makes heating up water to boil SO easy. It does have a bit of a learning curve to it if you need to actually cook on it but so far we haven’t had much of an issue. I also love that the top left burner has three different burner settings for small, medium and large pans.
I love the sleek design of the dishwasher. And although it seems like something little I love that all the settings are on top instead of on the outside. This makes it harder for Mason to turn the dishwasher on/off. Which was a huge problem with our last dishwasher! He LOVED touching all the buttons on our old one.
I love all the different settings especially the “extra dry” and “sanitize” I almost always use those two in addition to the Jet Clean!
We did have a slight issue with the dishwasher. I called the delivery service and had a very easy conversation with their customer service rep. I told them what was wrong (the sides were bowed out so you couldn’t open the door all the way without it making an awful noise) and they knew immediately what I was talking about and arranged for a new one to be sent to me. It was pretty much no hassle at all which is *always* nice.
The other appliance that we got was the refrigerator. At first we had received a standard two door freezer on the bottom fridge. It was a little smaller than our old fridge but was great because it didn’t have any temperature issues!
Unfortunately within a month the fridge started leaking. At first we thought it might be the water maker so we had someone come over and take a look at it. The wiring wasn’t broken and we let it run through a couple of times and didn’t see any leaking but to be on the safe side we shut off the water to the ice machine.
Later that day we noticed a leak which meant that it was the fridge and not the ice machine.
Once again I contacted Maytag and explained to them the issue and how important it was to get the fridge replaced ASAP because of the damage the water can do to my floor and they arranged to have a new fridge delivered the following Monday and they even upgraded me to the French Door Fridge.
B and I are both OBSESSED with this new fridge and it has seamlessly settled into to my number one appliance to have. It has a ridiculous amount of space in it which made Thanksgiving an absolute breeze and we love the drawer feature. It’s perfect for our fruits, veggies and cheeses, best part!? Mason can’t open it. Same with the Freezer on the bottom. It’s so wide that his little hands can’t get it open but it’s perfect for B and I. Not having your little be able to get into the freezer is super important especially when it’s on the bottom!
Check back next week to see the AMAZING storage capabilities of our fridge and how much it helps our family especially with Thanksgiving and soon Christmas!
