Since I’m staying at home now we tend to make a large breakfast and dinner as well. Lunch tends to be our whatever is left over from last night’s dinner/quick and easy meals.
Mason’s favorite quick and easy meal, like most toddlers is pizza. But if you put pizza in front of Mason he refused to eat his veggies. We’ve started to give him his veggies first and then when he’s done with those he’s allowed to have his pizza or whatever else we’re having for lunch/dinner that day!
When I was little my Aunt used to buy Ellio’s Pizza
when I noticed it was at my local grocery store
I the baby decided I needed some comfort food. So I picked the Pepperoni up, it helped that I knew Mason would love it too.
We had it for lunch the same day I picked it up. It had been YEARS since I had Ellio’s and I was surprised with how good it still tasted. So many times when you have something from your childhood it doesn’t live up to the expectations you had for it but that wasn’t the case with Ellio’s.
I love that the sauce was light, and that the pepperoni tasted real. Sometimes with low quality pizza you can taste the fattiness of lower quality meats. I also love that the crust was nice and crunchy while the dough of the pizza was still nice and soft! The only thing I would have liked to see was more cheese. But I like more cheese on extra cheese pizza so I’m not sure if I’m the best judge for cheesiness 🙂
I added broccoli on top of the pizza to give Mason and I some veggies with our meal.
It was a hit for all of us, most of all Mason!
He ate all the toppings off and then ate the bread. It made me giggle because my Mom says that when she was little she used to do this too!
