Mobile Mishaps ($40 Amazon or iTunes Gift Card Giveaway)

**waves hand wildly**

I am the QUEEN of mobile mishaps I would like to say that it all started with Mason but I’d be lying. Truth is I’ve been destroying my phones for years.

Add Mason to the mix and I’m lucky I even have a phone to use on a daily basis.

I had an HP Palm and when Mason was just under a year he grabbed it, ran with it and promptly threw it in the toilet. I lost EVERYTHING. My contacts. My videos. My Pictures. EVERYTHING it was awful.

Then I switched back to a non smartphone, it was no fun at all! But the story gets better! I went to BlogHer12 and HTC set me up with a brand new thunderbolt that I still have to this day. But she’s a victim of Mason’s toddler behavior as well. About a month or so after I got home from BlogHer Mason took my phone and threw it on the floor promptly cracking the screen. But she’s a survivor, I still have her to this day! Here she is:

At the time I wasn’t eligible for any more trade ins (yes that’s how many mobile mishaps I’ve had) so that’s why I still have her. Without insurance of any kind you have to pay FULL RETAIL PRICE for your phone. And depending on the phone you have that could mean 700+. Don’t be caught without insurance for your phone! Here are some work facts for you:

The very first day I got my smart phone I dropped it smack on the concrete floor of our garage. Fortunately, it was just the corner and not the screen.

Oooh… my mobile mishap was when I went to visit my grandma and had my phone on my lap in the car. When we reached her house, I got out of the car and totally forgot about my phone. After about 2 hours visiting, I needed to make a call, so I looked in my handbag but couldn’t locate my phone. My retraced my steps in my head and decided that it was in the car. At that time, it was raining heavily so we waited for the rain to stop. When it was time to go home, I walked to the car and saw my phone in a puddle beside my car door!! Poor phone. I immediately switched it off and let it dry out for a few days before attempting to switch it back on. Thankfully, it wasn’t damaged and still works great till today! This happened about 3-4 years ago.

I put the phone on top of the car and drove away. I have hands free and I asked the phone to dial so my husband could find it in the car and this man answered. He was in the vehicle that was behind me on the highway prior to my phone coming through his windshield. Thank god he was able to stop safely!

The first day day I got my new phone, it slipped out of my hand and fell onto the ground. Thankfully, it wasn’t cracked or broken! 🙂

I had one Blackberry that I knocked off the cabinet while doing my make up and then flushed. The replacement phone got run over with my car a few weeks later when it fell out of my purse. I’m a phone disaster!

I once dropped my phone while I was closing my car door, resulting in it being shut between the door panel and side of the seat… screen was cracked!

  9. Janice Cooper says

The only mishap I had was I lost my phone and had to call from another number to hear the ring and locate it (lol).

  10. LaTanya says

I dropped my iphone and cracked the screen really bad. I did not have insurance, so I had to buy another phone.

Not me, but my son-in-law. Brand new phone (that he just HAD to have, for $500, with a BABY on the way)and the dumb bunny puts it in his back pocket. WITH A PEN! Then sits down. Cracks the screen when the phone is not even a week old. No insurance.

I have been very lucky (touch wood) no real serious mishaps but have dropped on the cement sidewalk but my old skool flip phone survived!
