I feel like these are the only posts I do lately, I know that’s not true but that’s what it feels like. Then when I realize that it’s time for another one of these I realize how quickly the weeks are flying by.
It’s been 3 months since Elena died. In 20 days it will be 4 months. I still have flashbacks to my water breaking. It doesn’t seem like it was that long ago. The days are long but the months are short.
I’ve been trying to keep myself busy as much as possible but some days it just hits me hard. Yesterday B and I watched the entire mini-series of Hatfields and McCoys, it was really good but so sad. A baby died, they didn’t really talk much about it but they did have the Mom go to the funeral home and pick out the casket etc. That hit me hard. Another time Mrs. Hatfield talked to her boys who were about to be killed for their crimes and she started off with “When you give birth to a child”, I don’t even remember the rest but I pretty much lost it. I ended up ugly crying myself to sleep.
Where was I? Oh. Back to keeping myself busy.
On Saturday I went to a huge town wide garage sale. I forgot to take pictures of what I bought (frames and DVDs) but I did manage to take a picture of the cute little pit bull puppy that was for sale.
They were adorable! I bought Mason a puzzle that day too, much to my surprise less than a week later he’s doing the whole thing by himself. It’s a Melissa and Doug 48 Piece Jumbo Dinosaur Puzzle
I got it for $2 and he’s already done it a million times! Now that I know he can do these kinds of puzzles I’m going to pick up more for him!
Sunday we had some friends over for dinner, I made them the Bacon, Ranch Mac & Cheese. It was a huge hit! After we decided we needed some ice cream so we went and picked some up. The boys were adorable eating it on the steps!
Monday I walked with Mason to the the thrift store! I’ve been finding such a great things! Like this vanity
It needs a lot of fixing up but would be beautiful in someone’s home. I wish I could fix it up and do something amazing with it but I don’t have the storage space. Which is a shame because I really believe this is a once in a lifetime kind of piece thrift store wise at least!
I’m making a Summer Bucket List and one of the things on my list is learning how to sew. Our thrift store has SO many old sewing patterns once I get the hang of things more. A lot of them are from the 70s and 80s. I think if I looked some more I can even find some from the 50s and 60s, how fun is that?
I also found this really neat high chair. Once again I think it would look super cute in someone else’s house. Someone who maybe has more of an eclectic look going on? B would never go for this high chair
It was in pretty good shape!
I spent some time outside with Mason and Cash this week too. I took some pictures of course, I love this one of Cash!
And this one of Mason:
How has your week been so far?
