7 Weeks to Go!
I had a doctors appointment today! I got to hear his heartbeat again and B was there too. The Doctor (the one I would LOVE to have deliver my baby by the way!) said that she thinks Bean has flipped which is such a good sign! I don’t want to have a c-section so the fact that he might already have flipped makes me happy!
Another amazing thing happened today! B FINALLY felt Bean move! Now other people have felt him move but every time B tried Bean would just stop moving and to be honest B just didn’t have the patience to wait. Anyway we were in the car and B was playing his music all loud (trying to make sure Bean likes HIS music and not mine) and he had his hand on my stomach and sure enough he kicked…vindication for B that Bean will like the music he likes!
Anyway here is what’s going on this week!
How your baby’s growing:
This week your baby weighs a little over 4 pounds (heft a pineapple) and has passed the 17-inch mark. He’s rapidly losing that wrinkled, alien look and his skeleton is hardening. The bones in his skull aren’t fused together, which allows them to move and slightly overlap, thus making it easier for him to fit through the birth canal. (The pressure on the head during birth is so intense that many babies are born with a conehead-like appearance.) These bones don’t entirely fuse until early adulthood, so they can grow as his brain and other tissue expands during infancy and childhood.
I can’t believe I only have 7 Weeks to go! I can hardly wait! I’m trying to figure out which family member can be trusted enough to be a guest blogger for when I do have Bean so that everyone knows….I still have time for that though. My next appointment is in two weeks then I start going weekly. CRAZY! Today my appointment took longer than usual because they were sending another woman to the hospital because they felt she was in the early stages of labor. I can’t believe that’s going to be me soon!
